Lawrence W. Potter

Lawrence W. Potter, 81 of Mooreland, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2019. He was born August 10, 1937 at home in Roan Mountain, Tennessee to the late Nathaniel and Martha (Moore) Potter.

Lawrence was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from the Purdy Company following more than 43 years of service. He loved traveling to Canada to fish, being outdoors, and tinkering with small engines.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sharon Potter of Mooreland; children, Duane Potter Chesterton, IN; Denise (Scott) Switalski of Burlington, KY; Melissa Elkanah of La Porte, IN; Jason Potter, of Mooreland; grandchildren, Mariah Hamilton, Kiannah Hamilton, Matthew Potter; sister, Linda (Gary) Graff; brother, Larry Potter, both of Chesterton, IN; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Marianne Hamilton; siblings, Lonnie and Lonell; daughter in law, Crystal Potter.

Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Life Source Church, 4383 E. Co. Rd 300 N. New Castle, IN 47362 with Pastor Paul Lawson officiating. Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. prior to the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle.
