Lena B Gordon

Lena B. Gordon, 90, of Springport, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2019 at IU Health Methodist Hospital following a brief illness. She was born December 21, 1928 in New Castle to the late Leonard and Ruth (Luellen) Fain.

Lena was a 1947 graduate of New Castle High School. She retired from the Henry County Hospital, working in the Central Sterile Department, following more than 30 years of service. She was a member of the South Memorial Drive Church of God and enjoyed crocheting, bowling, collecting elephants and especially loved being with her family.
She is survived by her son, Gerald “Red” Gordon of Springport; grandchildren, Eric (Theresa) Gordon, Kim Hill both of New Castle; great grandchildren, Teri Hill, Katie Hill, James Huesman, Isiah Huesman, Cassie Smith; several great-great grandchildren; and a daughter in law, LuAnn Gordon of New Castle.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William Gordon; sons, Robert and Darrell Gordon and infant twins, Ronald and Donald Taylor.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Chris Gammello officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8:00 p.m. Monday, February 18 at the funeral home.
