Linda S. Morris

Linda S. Morris, 74, of New Castle, passed away Friday morning, February 14, 2020 following an extended illness. She was born December 28, 1945 in Jamestown, KY.

Linda grew up in New Castle, where she worked her first jobs at Barney’s Pharmacy and Crider’s Drive-In. She became a real estate agent, and worked for Randy Ann Realty, Lingle Real Estate and Remax Realty. She also owned and operated Lorrie Lynn’s Beauty Shop, and was a supervisor at Indiana Knitwear for several years. She worked at Housekeeping Supervisor for Heritage House of New Castle and retired from Anderson Healthcare.

She loved playing BINGO, played on several bowling leagues in New Castle and was a vivacious reader and book collector. An awesome grandma and great grandma, she was devoted to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of over 53 years, Richard F. Morris of New Castle, whom she married March 5, 1966; a daughter, Lorrie (Stacey) Morris Erb of New Castle; a son, Rick (Kimberly) Morris of New Castle; grandchildren, Krista (Nathan) Fletcher and their son, Lucas, of Yorktown; Kayla (Gordon) Miller of New Castle, and their children, Rylan and Austin (and one on the way), Hillary Noble of New Castle, and Madison Erb of New Castle; a brother, Mike (Kim) Dickerson of New Castle; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vaughn “Slim” and Mary Lucille (Stearns) Dickerson; a brother, John Dickerson, and a sister, Jill Dickerson.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service with Pastor Eric Haler officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
