LLoyd David Logan

Lloyd David Logan, 79, went home to meet the Lord, January 5, 2021 following heart complications at Columbus Regional Hospital. He was born October 15, 1941 in New Castle, IN a son of the late Finacy Elwood and Rosie (Bell) Logan.
David graduated from Walter P. Chrysler Memorial High School with the class of 1960 where he participated in tennis and football. He enjoyed his class reunions and homecoming events. He was a 1st Lieutenant with the Indiana Army National Guard during the Vietnam conflict. He was manager for several years of Danner Brothers and TG & Y retail stores throughout Indiana. He owned and operated Abby Glass Company in Nashville, TN until retirement. He also owned Logan’s Baseball Card shop in North Vernon, IN.
He was a great sports enthusiast, a true Trojan, as well as IU Basketball, Colts, and Fantasy sports. His most enjoyable time was watching his children and grandchildren in their sports. He was a member of Vernon Presbyterian Church in Vernon, Indiana.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ruth Ann (Hunt) Logan of North Vernon, two sons, David J. Logan and Douglas Logan both of North Vernon; a daughter, Lisa (Bryan) Gilpin of Versailles, IN; six grandchildren, Kameron, Konner, Kristopher and Isabelle Logan all of North Vernon and Kaidyn and Eli Gilpin of Versailles; three sisters, Brenda Bulmer, Susie Logan and Mary (Wayne) Malone, all of New Castle; two sisters in law, Sally Warf and Susie (John) Halsey of Columbus, IN; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2020 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle will Pastor Paul Davis and Scott McDowell officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery in New Castle where military rites will be conducted by the American Legion and VFW. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be given to the Vernon Presbyterian Church, 69 Washington St., Vernon, IN 47282. Due to the new Governor COVID 19 mandates wait times may be longer to enter the funeral home and face mask must be worn.
