Lois Ann Johnson

Lois Ann Johnson, 63, of New Castle, IN, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2018, at the Glen Oaks Health Campus where she had been residing for several weeks. Lois was born on December 11, 1955, in New Castle to Robert D. and Virginia L. (Heath) Johnson.

A lifelong resident of Henry County, Lois was the first person to graduate from Walter P. Chrysler High School, with a diploma thru the Special Education Program. Lois volunteered at the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame, Henry County Hospital in New Castle, and New Castle Senior Center for years. Her kind, loving heart and beautiful spirit blessed so many people throughout her life. Faith was very important to Lois. She attended meetings and Bible studies weekly. She enjoyed her time knitting, watching her favorite programs on TV, and playing cards and games with her friends. Lois had a giving heart, a sweet gentle spirit, and always a big smile. She was a true New Castle Trojan and a diehard Purdue Boilermaker, thanks to her brother.

Lois was preceded in death by her father Robert D. Johnson, and her sister Judith K. James. Lois leaves behind her mother, Virginia L. Johnson of New Castle, her brother Darryl G. (Linda Redd) Johnson of Marco Island, FL., and several nieces and nephews. She loved them all dearly.

A Celebration of Life Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with her sister-in-law, Rev. Linda R. Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Tomlinson Cemetery in Muncie, Indiana. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
