Louise Carter

Louise Thurston Brown/Carter, 93, went to be with the Lord after a brief illness, Tuesday, February 06, 2018. She was born July 21, 1924 in Monticello, KY to the late Murl J. and Flora Mae (Clark) Thurston.

Louise had a tremendous love for music, she was self taught on the piano. When Louise played the piano she would make that keyboard sing. Louise only knew 2 speeds fast and faster, she also sang with her brother in church and loved those old gospel songs.

She leaves to cherish in her memory her daughter, Barbara Sue (Ronnie) Brown-Martin of New Castle; a son-in-law, Ray Skibba of Powder Springs, GA; grandchildren, Mark (Chris) Todd of Dallas, GA, Lori Aylor of Phoenix, AZ, Jon Martin of Kempner, TX, Andy Martin of New Castle, several great and great-great grandchildren.

She also leaves behind a sister, Murlene (Russell) Pyles of Monticello, KY; four brothers, John (Betty) Thurston, Jimmie, Gene, and Glen Thurston; and a sister-in-law, Bea Thurston all of New Castle, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Howard Brown and Clarance Carter; a beautiful daughter, Penny Thurston Skibba; brothers, Kenneth and Darrell Thurston; sister, Alene Thurston; nephew, Jack Thurston; niece, Tara Enoch Terrell, three sisters-in-law, Brenda, Beverly, and Barbara Thurston.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Rev. Jim Becker officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. Friday, February 9 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Foursquare Gospel Church or the American Heart Association with envelopes available at the funeral home.
