M. Margaret Perdew, 87, of New Castle, passed away Wednesday , January 6, 2021 at The Addison Place following an extended illness. She was born December 27, 1933 in Piney Woods, KY, a daughter of the late Otha and Eva (Conner) McWhorter.
Margaret worked at Firestone and Modernfold, and then drove a bus for the New Castle School System for approximately 30 years. She also detasseled corn for Pioneer Seed Corn for 17 years. She coached Little League for over 20 years, as well as played on a Ladies Softball League for several years. She enjoyed flea markets, gardening, doing home crafts and loved her dogs. She also very much enjoyed playing BINGO.
She leaves to cherish her memory, three sons, Randy (Paula) Perdew of New Castle, Rodney (Pam) Perdew of New Castle, and Steve (Teresa) Perdew of Falmouth; eleven grandchildren, Gabby, Julien, and Allison Perdew, Austin (Tiffany) Perdew, Tanner Perdew (Stevie Harmon), Michael Agee, Janet Binford, Carolyn Isaacs, Mistima Bacon, and Sabrina Perdew; twenty-one great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leland Perdew; a grandson, Robin Isaacs; a sister, Amazora Snow, and three brothers, Kenneth, Lawrence, and Earl McWhorter.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 15, 2021 at South Mound Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Henry County Humane Society, Midway Dr., New Castle, IN, 47362.
