Marjorie Helen Wantz Norrick, born June 7, 1916 to Orville Seth Fowler and Florence (Covalt) Fowler passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents; two siblings, Wilma Fowler House and Richard Fowler; husband, Howard Eugene Wantz; and husband Stanley Eugene Norrick.
She is survived by her children, Leslie J. Wantz (Janice), Elaine K. Cunningham, Ann W. King, Susan J. Kupisch; stepson Daniel A. Norrick (Gerry); six grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and seventeen nieces and nephews.
She was an elder and active member of the First Christian Church, New Castle, Indiana; served as a volunteer coordinator for Meals on Wheels; knitted caps for newborns at Henry County Hospital; and was an expert with creative handwork. She and her husband, Howard, owned Wantz Electric Sales in Cambridge City, Indiana and Connersville Electric Supply. After Howard’s death, she worked at Audrey’s women’s apparel shop in Connersville. She and Stanley enjoyed retirement traveling and camping.
The Funeral service will be held at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, 3406 S. Memorial Drive, New Castle, Indiana, on Monday, January 30, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Mooreland Cemetery for immediate family members.
