Mary E. Dalton

Mary E. Dalton, 86, of New Castle, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at Henry Community Health. She was born July 25, 1934 in New Castle a daughter of John and Grace (Sweigart) Bach, Sr.

Mary was a graduate of New Castle High School and a member of Greensboro United Methodist Church. She was an avid birdwatcher and particularly enjoyed watching yellow finch and hummingbirds at her birdfeeders. Mary enjoyed gardening, baking, painting, working jigsaw puzzles and playing Skip-Bo.

She is survived by a daughter, Susi (Tim) Neeley of Knightstown; grandchildren, Lindsay (Elvis) Couch of Knightstown, Wendee (Mike) Pickett of Lewisville, Jessica (Joe) Downs of New Castle, Jennifer Dalton of Knightstown, Ross Dalton (Brittney) of Brownsburg; 10 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Sue Niles of Hamilton, Ida Reynolds of New Castle and Pauline Dalton of New Castle; brothers-in-law, Ralph (Roxie) Dalton of New Castle and Don (Barbara) Dalton of Greensboro; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Dalton; son, James P. Dalton; brother, John Bach, Jr.; sister, Linda Goff.

Services will be at 1:00 PM Friday, August 14, 2020 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Roby Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Hicksite Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 5635 W 96th Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46278.
