Mary Ann Dishman

Mary Ann Dishman, 73, of New Castle passed away Sunday, November 7, 2021 at her residence. She was born March 2, 1948 in Muncie to the late Hillard and Marcella (Malone) Bell.

Mary was a 1966 graduate of Wayne County High School in Monticello, Kentucky. She drove the New Castle City Transit “Now” Bus for several years before getting hired with the New Castle Community School Corp, where she drove the school bus for 23 years. She enjoyed working crossword and Sudoku puzzles, shopping, playing the piano and spending time with her grandchildren and church family. Mary was a faithful member of Grand Ave. Baptist Church, where she played the piano and sang.

She is survived by her husband, Don L. Dishman; children, Donnie Ray (Robbie) Dishman, Ron Allen (Donna) Dishman, Chris Neal and Aaron (Sara) Dishman; 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; sisters, Margaret “Janie” (Tom) Herman, Kimberly Ball and Alicia (Bob) Becker; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Hollis Bell and a brother in law, Rick Ball.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 12, 2021 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Charles Dugger officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 11, 2021 at the funeral home.
