Mary Camplin Maley, 66, of Knightstown, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Hancock Regional Hospital. She was born December 24, 1952 in Anderson, a daughter of Forrest R. and Viola F. (Reed) Camplin.
Mary grew up in Wilkinson and graduated from Eastern Hancock High School in 1971. She lived in Knightstown most of her life and taught for 20 years at Knightstown Elementary School. She was a member of Alpha Phi Sorority and the Knightstown United Methodist Church. She loved flower gardens, being in the sun and reading. Mary survived a serious accident in November 1995 becoming a quadriplegic. With the support of the Knightstown community, friends and family, Mary was able to live 25 years. Mary was such an inspiration to her countless dedicated and loyal care givers and loved each one of them.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Timothy E. Maley of Knightstown; two children, Thomas Maley (Stormie Foust) of Denver, CO, and Sarah Maley of New Castle; grandsons, Logan Maley and Mason Gaddis; mother, Viola Camplin of Wilkinson; sisters, Gloria “Jeannie” Jones of Wilkinson, and Rita (John) Reuter of Greenfield; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Forrest R. Camplin.
Services will be at 10:00 AM Monday, May 6, 2019 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Mark Tabb officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-6 PM Sunday. Condolences and memories of Mary may be shared at
