Michael K. Brandt

Michael K. “Mike” Brandt, 75, a resident of New Castle passed away Friday, January 14, 2022 at IU Health, Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born January 5, 1947 in New Castle to the late Carlin and Mary (Gabbard) Brandt.

A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he served during the Viet Nam War. A firearms hobbyist/instructor, Mike was an officer with the Monroe Township Conservation Club. He was also a 4-H instructor. Mike was a Ham Radio operator and was a member of the Henry County Amateur Radio Club.

Survivors include his wife: Sandra K. (Brewster) Brandt; a daughter: Christa Brandt of Columbus; two grandchildren: Alex and Mia Brandt, a brother: Keith (Melinda Kaye) Brandt of Alvin, TX; nieces and nephews: Joshua, David and Rachel Brandt; a great-nephew: Andre Partee, Jr.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Rev. Dr. James A. Gazaway officiating. Military rites will be conducted by a contingency of the U.S. Air Force, the American Legion and the VFW. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the time of services at the funeral home on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be given to the Monroe Township Conservation Club, P.O.
