Michael Z. Johnson, 62, of New Castle passed away Sunday, April 15, 2018 at his home. He was born July 4, 1955 in Greenfield, IN to the late Zelmar and Dorothy (Davis) Johnson.
He retired from Indiana Department of Transportation after nearly 40 years of service. Michael was a member of the North Side Church of God. He enjoyed fishing, gun collecting and loved spending time with his daughter.
He is survived by his daughter, Michaela Johnson of New Castle; brother, Mark (Kim) Johnson of Greenfield; sisters, Carol (Mike) Colclazier of Knightstown and Sandy (Mike) Snodgrass of Spiceland; former wife, Carol Johnson of New Castle and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2018 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Reverends Phil Brown and Elwood Evans officiating. Burial will follow in McCray Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 – 7 p.m. Thursday, April 19th at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be sent to the North Side Church of God, 927 N 14th Street, New Castle, IN 47362.
