Michael A. Wells

March 21, 1945 - November 6, 2021

Michael A. Wells, 76, of Knightstown, went to be with the Lord Saturday, November 6, 2021 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born March 21, 1945 in New Castle to the late Carl M. and Mary Willis (Jackson) Wells. A 1963 graduate of Knightstown High School, Mike worked at Roll Coaters in Greenfield for many years, Brookside Corporation in McCordsville and then at Draper, Inc. for several years, where he retired. He was a member of Faith Chapel Independent Baptist Church in Knightstown. An avid golfer, he was a member of Royal Highlands Golf Club, where he thoroughly enjoyed playing. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and all sports, especially watching I.U. basketball, of which he was an ardent supporter. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of over 57 years, Sonja A. Wells of Knightstown, whom he married September 26, 1964; two sons, Todd Michael (Monica) Wells of Greenfield, and Ross Andrew (Tabatha) Wells of Kodak, TN; four grandchildren, Sara (Nathan) Gertz of Springboro, OH, Emily (Brad) Fogle of Beaver Creek, OH, Kayleigh (Devin) Banks of Spokane, WA, and Ryan (Makayla) Wells of Tacoma, WA; four great-grandchildren, Brantlee, Addison, William, Jaxon and one on the way. Also, two brothers, Marty (Debbie) Wells of Carthage and Scott Wells of Knightstown; several nieces, nephews and cousins survive. Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Eric Boling officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to Faith Chapel Independent Baptist Church, 359 E.
