Mildred Marie Chamberlin

Mildred Marie Chamberlin, 97, of New Castle passed away Friday, December 14, 2018 at her home. She was born December 28, 1920 in Henry County to the late Rea and Goldie (Hoover) Yauky.

She was a 1938 graduate of New Castle High School and New Castle Business College in 1939. She was employed at Sears in 1939 when they opened in New Castle and retired in 1982 from Sears when the store closed. Mildred was a member of Chicago Corner Church where she attended church all of her life and was the church treasurer for nearly 40 years. Mildred was a member of Macra Ne Feirma Farm Couples Club since 1946. She was a lifetime member and volunteer of Wilbur Wright Birthplace, member of Henry County Extension Homemakers since 1955 and a member of Rural Living. Mildred was Homemaker of the Year in 2000. She had a servant’s heart and volunteered wherever needed.

She is survived by a son, Duane (Wanda) Chamberlin of New Castle; a daughter, Diane (Doug) Kindred of New Castle; 7 grandchildren, Lori (Greg) Allen of New Castle, Brad (Tara) Chamberlin of Pendleton, David (Jessalyn) Kindred of New Castle, Elisabeth (Nick) Razor of New Castle, Stephanie (Ross) Sparks of New Castle, Brian (Sydney) Kindred of Ft. Wayne and Jon (Ashlee) Kindred of New Castle; 11 great-grandchildren, Carly, Cori Beth and Cooper Allen, twins Ava and Mason Chamberlin, Jackson Chamberlin, Kheagan and Kaelyn Kindred, Lydia and Myles Razor and Jude Sparks; sister, Madonna Larsen Wise of TX; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Chamberlin in 2006 whom she married on June 9, 1946.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Chicago Corner Church with Pastor Roger Hendricks officiating. Burial will follow in Brick Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 – 8 p.m. Monday, December 17th at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Memorial contributions may be sent to Chicago Corner Church, 8405 E.
