Mildred P. Hail, 88, formerly of New Castle, entered eternal life on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Isle Health and Rehab in Fleming Island, FL. She was born October 30, 1930 in New Castle, a daughter of Charles and Mary (Carr) McWhorter.
Mildred accepted Jesus as her savior at the age of twelve. She said not long ago that she has never regretted it. She served him faithfully for seventy-six years. She started attending New Castle First Nazarene church in 1937 and has been a member there since the 1940s.
Over the years, Mildred used her musical talents for the glory of God, playing piano, organ, and accordion at church. She had a beautiful singing voice, and blessed the church as a choir member, a soloist.
Throughout her life, Mildred was characterized by her tender heart. She demonstrated forgiveness. She was a thoughtful person who was careful to cause no harm to others, and she was a true friend.
Mildred’s house was meticulously and beautifully maintained. Many of the church kids were regulars at Mildred’s table, where both the food and the conversations were pleasing. Mildred interacted with her own children and their friends, guiding conversations, answering questions, and laughing at jokes.
