Myrtle E. Matta, 97, of New Castle passed away Sunday, November 15, 2020 at Glen Oaks Health Campus. She was born December 19, 1922 in Henry County, Indiana, a daughter of the late John and Valeta (Swindell) Gray.
She was a resident of Hayward, California prior to moving to New Castle in 2005 to be close to her siblings. Myrtle enjoyed bowling, playing BINGO, ceramics, traveling and visiting casinos. A socialite, she was always the “life of the party”.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Alfred Matta; son, Dallas Clark of Pampa, TX; sister, Laura Huxhold of New Castle; several grandchildren including Kelly West of West Chester, PA & Kenneth Waterman, Jr. of Pottstown, PA; and many nieces & nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter; Christina A. Waterman; son, Ronald J. Clark; and twelve brothers & sisters.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 19, 2020 at South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition with Pastor Danny Goddard officiating.
