Nancy L. Peters, 80, of Greenfield, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at Hancock Regional Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born January 13, 1939 in Greenfield a daughter of Fred and Etheline (Cook) Cooney.
An accomplished seamstress, Nancy worked at Indiana Knitwear in Greenfield for 25 years. She was a member of Hoosier Hills Metal Detecting Club. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, metal detecting with her friends and was in a Bowling League for several years.
She is survived by four children, Charlotte Peters of North Carolina, Deborah (Tom) Madigan of Kettering, OH, Joe (Cindy) Peters of Greenfield and Rebecca (Don) Young of Knightstown; 17 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Joan Reigel of Greenfield, Betty (Rex) Holt of OK and Linda (Bill) Blagburn of AL; several nieces and nephews; and her cats, Velvet, Tiny, and Noki.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Peters; two sons, Charles, Jr. “Chuck” and Warren Peters; a sister, Judy Frazier.
Services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Pastor John Crisp officiating. Burial will follow in Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
