Nancy Elizabeth Staton

Nancy E. Staton, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 14, at Park Place Nursing and Rehab Facility in Monroe, Georgia.

Mrs. Staton was born in Bath County, Ky., on November 22, 1925, to the late Ernie, and Alma (Sorrell) Downs. She married her husband Clayton R. Staton on January 29, 1946 and moved to New Castle after World War II. Mrs. Staton was a homemaker her whole life and a lifelong member of “the Live and Learn Home Demonstration Club” of Henry County. She was a member of South Memorial Drive Church of God and was active in WCOG and other ministries of the church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton R. Staton in 2013. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Greg (Kay) Conn of Monroe, Ga. And Mrs. Rick (Susan) Davis of Sebastian, Fla.; a son Jim (wife Patricia) of Indianapolis;7 grandchildren; Chris (Lisa) Conn of Atlanta, Ga., Kelley Conn of Snellville, Ga., Kevin Conn of Atlanta, Ga., Kristi Lankford (Barry) of Dallas, Ga., Kase Holmes (Melissa) of Orlando, Fl., Julie Jones and Jeremy Staton both of Indianapolis; 18 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle, Friday December 21, from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. and the funeral service at 12 p.m. officiated by Pastor Chris Gammello. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Gardens in New Castle. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s association, 50 E. 91 Indianapolis, IN 46209-4830.
