Norma June (Walton) Bennett, 91, of New Castle passed away Friday, March 20, 2020 at Hickory Creek in New Castle. She was born July 20, 1928 in Linton, Indiana, a daughter of the late Thomas G. Walton and Emery and Verna E. (Bicknell) Bedwell.

A graduate of Linton-Stockton High School, she attended Evangelical United Brethren Church in Linton. Norma was a member of the Lewisville Home Ec Club and Psi Iota Xi Sorority. She loved working in her flowers and taking care of grandkids.

Survivors include her daughters, Diana New and Jacquline Bennett both of New Castle, Pamela (Steve) Ramsey of Greenfield and Kimberly (Allan) Pierce of Spiceland; one son, Wayne (Kittie) Bennett of Rawson, Ohio; grandchildren, Aaron New of New Castle, Lisa Madison of Mooreland, Randy (Sarah) Madison of Springport, April (Alan) Kemper of Frankton, Taylor (Jared) New, Brock Ramsey both of New Castle, Tiffany (Kyle) Mason of San Antonio, Texas, Katelyn Pierce of New Castle and Andrew Pierce of Spiceland; great grandchildren, Shyann New, Emilee & Tyler Madison, Dakota, Brent, Trevor & Maci Madison, Madison, Eleanor & Bennett Kemper, Greyson New, Baby New due in August, Naomi Ramsey and Noah Mason; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Ermel Bennett in 2015; daughter & son-in-law, Linda (2012) and Terry (2017) Madison; grandson, Dennis New (2019); great granddaughter, Bristol Ramsey (2018); and a brother, Charles Walton.

The family would like to thank the staff of Hickory Creek of New Castle for their excellent care that Norma received.

Services will be held privately at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Alzheimer’s Association. Please express condolences or share a memory of Norma at www.hinsey-brown.com .
