Oleta Jarvis

Oleta Jarvis, 85, of Knightstown, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born June 1, 1935 near Albany, Kentucky, daughter of Arthur and Neta (Cross) Jarvis.
Oleta retired from the Soldiers and Sailors Children’s Home in 2000 after 38 years of service. She was recognized for her dedicated service by the Governor. She also received an award from the State Health Department for her service to the State of Indiana. Oleta was a member of Community Baptist Church.
Oleta is survived by siblings, Lowell (Etsuko) Jarvis, Oren (Janice) Jarvis, Clarice (Ralph) Thompson, Sue (Bill) Thornburg, Mary (Steve) Lubich and Becky (Jeff) Snedegar; special friend, Donna. Although she had no children of her own, her many nieces and nephews were very special to her. A special thanks to niece, Jennifer Wolski for all of her attentiveness she gave to Oleta.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a niece, Penny Thornburg and nephew, Robert Turner.
Services will be private for the family at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service with Pastor Eric Boling officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery.
