Rockledge – Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend Patricia Ann Hawley passed away peacefully Monday, July 27, 2020 at the age of 91.

Patricia was born February 14, 1929 in Hammond, Indiana to Frank and Leatha Lowden and then raised by her aunt, Estella Bartuska after her parents passed. She married her love and Airman, Lt. Col. William (Bill) Dow Hawley, in November 1950 who preceded her in death in 1992.

Patricia lived the military life, living in many states across the country with her family. She loved people and loved being the “mom” to all her children’s friends. She was incredibly kind to everyone she met and would talk your ear off if you ran into her at the grocery (whether she knew you or not). She also loved all animals and would always take in a stray. However, her greatest love was her family.

Her son Kent Hawley and three daughters Susan (Steve) Roney, Karen (John) Shaffner and Kathryn Conklin survive Patricia. Also mourning Patricia’s loss are her grandchildren Kristin, Janae, Erik, Jacklynn, Kaylie, Ian, Brandon (Meghan), Brooke and Kori; as well as her seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her immediate family, Patricia leaves many nieces and nephews from Florida to Indiana whom she adored, as she did all her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband William and daughter Kristin.

For family and friends, a viewing will be held 10:00 am – 12:00 pm with services starting at 12:00 pm at Hinsey–Brown Funeral Service in New Castle, Indiana on Saturday, August 8, 2020.
