Patsy L. McCammack

Patsy L. McCammack, 79, of New Castle, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Henry Community Health. She was born August 24, 1938 in Putnam County, Indiana, a daughter of the late Maynard and Margaret (Coffey) Hurst.

A 1956 graduate of Belle-Union High School, Patsy was a homemaker most of her married life, enjoying being a wife and mother to her four children. She did, however, work for Public Service Indiana for a time in Plainfield. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in New Castle, and had been a deaconess at the First Baptist Church in Muncie. She enjoyed participating with the Steve Alford Community Golf Outing.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 60 years, Eldon McCammack of New Castle, whom she married October 26, 1957, four children, Russ (wife, Delori) McCammack of Greenwood, Clyde (wife, Kim) McCammack of Greenwood, Alan (wife, Pam) McCammack of Knightstown, and Debbie (husband, Skip) Carter of New Castle; eight grandchildren, Sarah McCammack, Amanda (McCammack) Rehm, Holly (McCammack) Fox, Emily McCammack, Abigail McCammack, Katie McCammack, Austin Carter, and Chris Carter; a great granddaughter, Ryleigh Young; a brother, Jim (wife, Madonna) Hurst of Lexington, KY; a sister, Carolyn Hurst of Greencastle; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn Cox and Waneta Hurst.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 8, 2018 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service with Dr. Clyde McCammack officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice.
