Patsy Faye Smith

Patsy Faye Smith, 77, of New Castle, passed away Monday, May 2, 2022 at I.U. Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born June 20, 1944 in Albany, KY, a daughter of the late Horace and Mary Uldean (Sheffield) Polston.

Patsy worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for over 24 years at Heritage House in New Castle, and then worked for over nine years as a house parent for the Senior boys at the Indiana Soldiers and Sailors Home in Knightstown. She attended the Ninth Street Church of God in New Castle, enjoyed reading, quilting, and cooking large meals for her family. Above anything in the world, she loved her grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Vicki Faurote of New Castle; four grandsons, Michael (Ashley) Hamm of San Antonio, TX, Justin Faurote of New Castle, Nick (Eva) Faurote of Middletown, and Laramie Scott of Lexington, KY; two great grandchildren, Robert Hamm of San Antonio, TX and Ozli Rose Faurote of Middletown; a sister, Mattie Denny of Albany, KY; two brothers, Everett (Martha) Polston of Albany, Ky, and Delbert (Brenda) Polston of Mt. Summit; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Smith in 1999; a daughter, Jenny Scott in 2014; two brothers, Randall Polston in 2015 and J.G. Polston in 2021.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Ninth Street Church of God with Pastor Allen Polston officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Friday, May 6, 2022 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle.
