Paul L. Baughey, 64, of Muncie, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at IU Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. He was born January 10, 1954 in Adrian, MI, a son of the late Bobby L. and Esther M. (Monjar) Baughey.
A 1972 graduate of Sylvania High School in Sylvania, OH, Paul served in the U.S. Navy. After moving to Henry County, he was a police officer with the Middletown Police Department. He then moved to Lebanon, Ohio, and worked for ten years as a plumber, helping create the water park at King’s Island. After returning to the area, he worked and retired from the Pendleton Correctional Facility as a Plumbing Supervisor.
He is survived by his former wife and mother of his children, Mary Martt of Mooreland; children, Holly (Wilmer) Ochoa of Anderson, Brandon Baughey of Muncie, and David Daffron of Springport; grandchildren, Ashlyn, Jacob, Laihla Baughey, Kailor and Eisley Ochoa, all of Anderson; a sister, Lisa E. (Jerry) Dorgan of Cambridge City; nephews, Shawn Dorgan and Kyle (Zoe) Dorgan, all of Cambridge City; brother, Philip A. Baughey of Muncie.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a niece, Jessica Dorgan.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 7, 2019 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Larry Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 11-1 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
