Paula L. Garcia

Paula L. Garcia, 57, of Shirley, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at Hancock Regional Hospital. She was born May 26, 1963 in New Castle, the daughter of Paul Ellison and Beverly (Hammond) Luellen.

Paula was a 1981 graduate of Eastern Hancock High School. She always wanted to learn something new. She was a fighter and would go after what she wanted or needed in life. Paula loved baking, doing crafts and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Julio Garcia; children, Angela (John) Hedrick of Shirley, Justin (Cassie) Luellen of Pendleton, Shayla Luellen of Shirley; grandchildren, Haley and Gracin Hedrick; brother, Brian (Alison) Ellison of Wilkinson; sister-in-law, Kim Ellison of Shirley; sister, Renee Ellison of Knightstown; aunts, Evelyn Luellen of Wilkinson and Kathy (Tim) Tallent of Knightstown; father and mother-in-law, Juan and Maria Rodriguez; brothers-in-law, Juan, Ramon, Carlos, Martin, Alfonzo; sister-in-law, Andrea; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jeff Ellison.

Services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Ryan McCarty officiating. Burial will follow in McCray Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of service. Due to Covid-19 and the governor’s mandate, face covering will be required.
