Phyllis E. Poor

August 17, 1942 - May 5, 2022

Phyllis E. Poor, 79, of New Castle passed away Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Glen Oaks Health Campus. She was born August 17, 1942 in New Castle to the late Richard Rector and Francis (Griffin) Skinner. Phyllis was a lifelong resident of Henry County and attended Middletown High School. She was a member of Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church for many years and also enjoyed playing cards. She is survived by her children, Terri (Jay) Martin of Little Rock, AR, Jeff (Cathie) Poor of Blowing Rock, NC, Phil Poor of Whitestown; grandchildren, Will and Emma Martin, Ashley (Nick) Masi, Krista (Charles) Sweat, Jonathan, Aidan and Helen Poor; great grandchildren, Harper and Navy June Masi; brother, Richard (Donarite) Rector and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Poor and a sister, Sharon Dietrich. Services will be at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Steve Arnett officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memory Garden. Visitation will be from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church.
