Richard "Dick" J. French

June 5, 1944 - March 29, 2022

Richard “Dick” J. French, 77, of New Castle passed away Tuesday morning, March 29, 2022 at Stonebrooke Rehabilitation Center in New Castle. He was born June 5, 1944 in Richmond, Indiana, a son of the late Clarence and Betty (Horton) French. Dick installed lockers and bathroom partitions in schools. He had also worked in maintenance at Walmart in New Castle. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Norma J. Bales, whom he married October 26, 1985; son, Richard (Lisa) French of Cincinnati, Ohio; grandson, Adam French; two brothers, Bert (Regina) French of Louisville, Kentucky and Gayle (Nancy) French of Marion, Ohio; and several nieces & nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Todd French; and two brothers, John & Howard French. Per Dick’s wishes, there will be no public services. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Services in New Castle. Memorial contributions may be given to Alzheimer’s Association, 8430 North Bryn Mawr Ave, Suite 800, Chicago, IL 60631 or Henry County Humane Society, 11 Midway Drive, New Castle, IN 47362.
