Robert Lowell Morris, 87, of Knightstown, passed away Monday, January 22, 2018 following a lingering illness at Henry Community Health. He was born October 26, 1930 in Hancock County to Herman and Emma (Brooks) Morris.
Bob was a resident of rural Knightstown where he spent most of his life. He graduated from Knightstown High School in 1949 and served in the United States Marine Corps from 1951-1954. Bob retired from Western Electric and ATT.
Survivors include three sisters: Cara West and Betty House-Baugh, both of New Castle and Maxine Thompson of Waverly, OH; nephews: Gary (Debi) Morris of New Castle, Bill (Cristi) House of Athens, GA, Bill Thompson of Waverly, OH, Bobby Joe West, Thomas West and David West, all of New Castle; nieces, Kay House-Clark of Elkhart, Mary Jean Altman of Waverly, OH, Lisa Ann Roush and Nancy Staker, both of Chillicothe, OH, Patty Blankenship and Linda Williams, both of New Castle and Carolyn Sue of NY; special families: Betty and Charles Holden of Knightstown, Shirley Lovins and family, Debbie Schrougham of Greenwood, Trevor “Bubby”, Makiah, Tori Mae, Tanner, Trace, David Dean, Marie, Cade, Bryce, Gabriel and Kennedy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph (Helen) Morris; a sister: Patricia Ann Bell; grandparents: Cecil (Myrtle) Morris and grandfather: Frank Brooks; brothers-in-law: John House, Carlos Baugh, Charles Thompson and David West.
Services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Jeff Johnson officiating. Military rites will be conducted by a contingency of the U.S. Marines, American Legion and VFW. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.
