Ronald E. Thompson Sr.

Ronald Thompson; May 7, 1933-August 17, 2018. Born in Shirley, IN to Edgar and Hazel Thompson.

Ron was a family man first and foremost. He was a farmer, and a father that adored his wife and family. Ron was on the board of Henry Co. REMC for 30 years. He retired from Chrysler after 30 years of service. He cared about his country. He served in the Army and was also a Mason. Ron was a prankster and a jokester, training his grandchildren and great grandchildren at every moment. He was a member of New Testament Church of Christ. Ron and his wife Joyce were married 64 years.

They are the parents of four children, Kathy (Royce) Nicholas of Hagerstown, Ronda (Brad) Weesner of New Castle, Mary (Bob) Pritchett of Knightstown, and Ron (Donna) Thompson of New Castle. They are the grandparents of 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He has several nieces and nephews.

Ron is survived by sisters, Marilynn Horak, New Castle, Janet (Mark) Holland of Versailles, Sonja (Mike) New, California.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Roy, Robert, and Paul Thompson, and sister, Jean Norris.

Visitation will be at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle, Indiana from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, August 20, 2018 with funeral services at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 21st at 10:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be sent to Nettle Creek Food Pantry, 752 W.
