Rosalind "Rosie" M. Brown

Rosalind “Rosie” M. Brown, 92, of Tipton and formerly of Mooreland passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at The Waters of Tipton. She was born May 22, 1930 in Kennard to the late Earnest and Grace (Personett) McKinsey.

Rosie was a graduate of New Castle High School and Indiana University where she earned her nursing degree. She worked at the Indiana State Developmental Center for over 34 years as a Nursing Administrator. Rosie and her husband, Owen, loved taking annual and sometimes biannual trips to Sioux Narrows, Ontario, Canada where they hunted and fished. She attended the Mooreland First Christian Church and loved watching her grandchildren participate in activities and different events.

She is survived by a son, Stephen (Diana) Brown of Atlanta, IN; grandchildren, Erin Allen of Atlanta, IN, Trevor (Stephanie) Brown of Rochester, IN, Justin (Ashley) Brown of Monticello, IN; great grandchildren, McKinsey, Adeline, Eliza, Natalie, Allen, Owen, Emerson, Lincoln, Mallory, Levi and Graham Brown and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Owen Dale Brown in 2017; siblings, John, Jim, Margaret, Crystal and Eloise.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 30, 2023 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Nathan Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Mooreland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mooreland First Christian Church.
