Ruby Evelyn Orr

Ruby Evelyn Orr, 94, of Middletown and Sulphur Springs passed away Thursday morning May 27, 2021 at the Signature of Muncie. She was born June 21, 1926 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Perry “P Jack” G. and Claire B. (Guffey) Catron.

She managed the Sale Barn Restaurant as well as Ruby’s Rest in Greensboro. Ruby was a member of Westview Church of the Nazarene, where she served as Missionary Links Secretary. She loved to go camping with her family.

Survivors include her children, Rick (Vicky) Orr of Spiceland, Connie (Johnny) Ripberger of Greensboro, Vickie Joe (Samuel) Swinford of Sulphur Springs, Darrell R. (Terrie) Orr of Wilkinson and Carol Fay Ford of New Castle; grandchildren, Sonja (Chris) Russell, David Orr, Justin (Lacey) Orr, John (Rhonda) Ripberger, Jr., Angela (Jason) Bush, Misty (Eric) Brockman, Brandie (Ian) Vance, Samantha (Jason) Davenriner, Jennifer Orr (John Burton), Michelle Goff, Stephen (Kim) Ford, Jason (Hannah) Ford and Rachel (Preston) Shoopman; 27 great grand children and 2 great great-granddaughters; sister, Roena Criswell of New Castle; sister-in-law, Marilyn Orr of New Castle; and several nieces & nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Orr, Jr; sister, Delia Hall; brother, Leonard Catron and son-in-law, Herman Ford.

Services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Paul Riddle officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 1 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
