Ruth Latham

T. Ruth Latham, 78, of New Castle, passed away Friday, May 29, 2015 at her residence. She was born November 7, 1936 in Henry County a daughter of Orville S. and Elizabeth (Miller) Humbles.

Ruth retired from CMH Associates following more than 20 years of service. She also owned Latham Tax Service and was a Notary Public. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she sang in the Choir; and was also a member of the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers, Indiana Society of Accountants and a former active member of the Breakfast Optimist International. Ruth enjoyed taking care of her flowers and gardening.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Latham of New Castle; three sons, Mark (Wanda) Wright of Ft. Wayne, Tony (Cheryl) Wright of New Castle, and Curtis (Debi) Wright of Vicksburg, Michigan; stepchildren, Jeff (Nevali) Latham of New Castle and Lisa (Brad) Garvin of New Castle; grandchildren, Rachel (Matt) Morgan, Nathan (Shannon) Wright, Matt (Amy) Wright, Amanda (Zac) Jones, Daniel (fiancé, Kelsey) Wright, Jordan Wright, Nicholas Wright, Gabriella Wright; step grandchildren, Nathanial Latham, Joe Bradley Garvin, Lily Garvin, Ella Garvin; 13 great grandchildren; siblings, Doris (Pedro) Olan of North Carolina, Billy (Dixie) Humbles of Utah, and Maryvee Purcell of Georgia.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Beth Thompson; three great grandchildren, Olivia Layne and Elijah Cain Wright and Mary Abigail Morgan.

Services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Cindy Upchurch officiating. Burial will follow in Hillsboro Cemetery.
