Sallie E. Figg

Sallie E. Figg, 89, of New Castle went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 22, 2020 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born August 6, 1931 in Bartow, Florida, a daughter of Roy and Violet (Grooms) Durrance.

A homemaker, she was a member of South Side Church of the Nazarene in New Castle. She loved helping her husband Donald on the farm and traveling together. Sallie was a loving mother to five children.

Survivors include her children, William D. Lee of Nashville, Tennessee, Rebecca D. Figg of Asheboro, North Carolina, Rita C. Shock of Spiceland, and Michael C. (Sue) Figg of Jefferson, New Hampshire; nine grandchildren, Christopher Figg of North Carolina, Amanda R. Guffey of Huntington; Brittani D. Brestovich of Muncie, Casey D. Denney of Seymour, Deanna R. Hazelwood of Kentucky , Chad A. Shock of Knightstown, Adam B. Boyette of Florida, Rachael Boyette of South Carolina, Michelle Briggs of Maine and Jacob Figg of New Hampshire; 14 great grandchildren; three sisters; and several nieces & nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Donald; daughter, Teresa R. Figg Boyette; two brothers and two sisters.

At the family’s request services will be private. Burial will be at Green Hills Memory Gardens. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle.
