Sheila A. Neal, 71, of New Castle passed away Thursday, May 2, 2019 at The Waters of New Castle. She was born on November 03, 1947 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (Wood) Crowe.
Sheila was a devoted wife, mother and mamaw, who was known to spoil them all with her love and attitude of putting others first. She loved her entire family, church family, high school classmates, the patients she cared for and most importantly Sheila loved the Lord. A 1966 graduate of Cadiz High School, she had every classmate’s birthday memorized and would acknowledge that special day with a card. Sheila had spent her working days as a nurse with the State Hospital, as well as a few other nursing homes, but her most recent employment was nursing director at Raintree Square. She cared for her patients long after she had gone home, hoping they were receiving the same level of care she had left them with. A member of the Cadiz Christian Church, Sheila was a Godly woman and a lover of the Word. She also was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling and crocheting. She would crochet blankets for her grandkids and small blankets that she would deliver to the hospital.
Sheila is survived by her husband of 47 years, Bob Neal of New Castle; son, Scott (Heather) Neal of Cadiz; daughter, Stephanie (Terry) Vance of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Hannah and Luke Neal, Anaya, Justice, David, Lydia, Tyson and Loyal Vance; sister, Marjorie (Denny) Crum of Sulphur Springs; nieces, Peggy (Tom) Dickey, Amy (Andy) Goad and Sarah Crum; a great niece and several great nephews.
In addition to her parents, Sheila was preceded in death by a grandson, Terry Josiah Vance; sister, Anne Crowe.
A celebration of life will be held at 5:00pm Tuesday May 7, 2019 at the Cadiz Christian Church with Pastors Andy Goad and Jeff Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00pm until time of service. Condolences and memories of Sheila can be shared at
