August 16, 1939 — May 11, 2022

Sue N. Millis, 82, of Kennard, went home to be with her Lord on May 11, 2022 at her home surrounded by family following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born August 16, 1939 in Bronson, Kentucky to the late Brad and Bessie (Johnson) Neal.

Sue worked at Delco Remy in Anderson and served as the Clerk Treasurer for the town of Kennard from 1988 to 2003. She was also a member of the Kennard Town Board. Sue was a 1958 graduate of Knightstown High School and served on the Knightstown Alumni Association. Sue was a lifelong member of the Kennard Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sister Joan Price of Decatur, Alabama; sister-in-law Josephine Neal of Long Island, New York; children, daughter Lisa (Drew) Schneider of Lake Milton, Ohio, sons, Bruce (Amy) Bowling of Yorktown, Jeff Bowling of Kennard, Chris (Sherry) Millis of New Castle, and step daughter Lisa Beckam of Muncie; grandchildren, Landon Bowling, Brooke(Tara) Schneider, Mollie (Randy) Johnson, Erin (Ryan) Kane, Cal (Abby) Bowling, Kelsey (Chris) Low, Alex Millis, Zach Millis, Macy Bowling, Shalynne Millis, Shelby Bowling, and Marshall (Tami) Lyons; great grandchildren, Kylee Purcell, Ella Johnson, Ady Rozzi and Hayden Garrett, Tru Weilenman, Kayden Schneider, Noah Johnson, Rylee Weilenman, Lucas Johnson, Caiysn Bowling, Reilly, Wyatt, and Hudson Kane; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Sue loved Country Music, especially Charlie Pride. She enjoyed traveling card club, shopping, and spending time with her lifelong friends, commonly referred to as “The Golden Girls”, Betty Bogue, Carol Henderson, Patty Dalton, Shirley Shepherd, and the late Elaine Carnes. She loved her family, grandchildren, and her beloved sister Joan more than anything, and spending time with her was her favorite thing to do.

The family would like to personally thank the Southern Care Hospice team, social workers, nurses and aides that kept Sue comfortable at home in her final days.

As well, the children of Sue would like to acknowledge and thank: Brooke (Tara), Alex, Kylee and Kayden for their endless hours of dedication to their Nana’s care, for if it wasn’t for them she would not have been able to remain at home.
