Sue "Susie" Ellen Hufford

Sue “Susie” Ellen Hufford, 63, of New Castle passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. She was born December 27, 1957 in New Castle, Indiana, a daughter of the late Everett and Janet L. (Murphy) Caudill.
A 1976 graduate of New Castle High School, Susie married the love of her life, Larry, on July 29, 1977. She started working in the Henry County Recorder’s Office in 1991 and was the elected Henry County Recorder from 2006 until her retirement in 2014. Susie enjoyed traveling, tending to her flowers, watching sports, caring for others, but most of all being with her grandchildren & attending their sporting events. Susie was a master at puzzles and a lifelong Dachshund lover.
Left to cherish her memory include her husband, Larry; daughter, Holly (Bryan) Guffey of New Castle; son, Chris (Melanie) Hufford of Pendleton; grandchildren, Macy, Carmen, McKenley and Colston Hufford, Lauren & Ashlyn Guffey and Hunter Hudson; sister, Cindy (Randy) Utt; several nieces, nephews & special friends; and her beloved Dachshund, Callie.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Steven Caudill; father & mother-in-laws, David & Joy Hufford and Bill & Betty Ezell; and a sister-in-law, Jennifer Fultz.
Services will be 6:00 p.m. Thursday, June 17, 2021 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Mark Herbkersman officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until time of services on Thursday. You may express condolences or share a memory of Susie at www.hinsey-brown.com .
