Thomas A. “Tommy” Davis, 57, of Carthage, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021 at St. Francis Hospital. He was born February 18, 1964 in Rushville a son of Joseph and Virginia (Steward) Davis.
Affectionately known as “Speedy,” he was employed at Reith Riley Road Construction for over 20 years. He had formerly worked for John McGee Concrete and also assisted train conductors on the railroad. Tommy was a member of Local #120 and attended Carthage Wesleyan Church.. He enjoyed fishing, cutting wood and raising animals. Tommy enjoyed singing and spending time with family and friends. He was a hard worker and always enjoyed helping others, even in death as he was an organ donor, helping at least four individuals.
He is survived by two sons, Jacob Davis and Kaleb Davis, both of Carthage; his mother, Virginia Davis of Carthage; brothers, Joey (Carol) Davis of Southbridge, MA, Brian (Judy) Davis of Carthage and Glenn (Angela) Davis of Selma; granddaughter, Rosie Davis of Knightstown; mother-in-law, Betty Griffin of Carthage; sisters and brothers-in-law, Terri Griffin of Carthage and Jamie (Brian) Chapman of Noblesville; several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Davis; wife, Tammy Davis; grandson, Darien Davis; and father-in-law, James Griffin.
Services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Carthage Wesleyan Church with Pastor Charles Stroud officiating. Burial will follow in Carthage Cemetery.
