Thomas Henry Fitzgerald

Thomas Henry Fitzgerald, 87, of New Castle passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021 at his residence. He was born February 28, 1933 in The Bronx, New York, a son of the late Thomas Henry and Margaret (Kilpatrick) Fitzgerald.

A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Marine Corp and was stationed in Paris Island and Japan. Tom retired from Ball State University where he was director of computer operations. He had previously worked at Sandoz Corporation in New Jersey and Racal Milgo Corporation in Miami, Florida. He was involved in Boy Scouts and previously the Knights of Columbus. Tom enjoyed reading, on-line poker, live poker, bicycling and gardening. He always enjoyed helping others.

Survivors include the mother of his 6 children, Eleanor Wright Fitzgerald of Somerset, Kentucky; children, Steven J. Fitzgerald of Noblesville, Kathleen Ann (James) Brumley of Somerset, Kentucky, Michael F. Fitzgerald of New Castle, Peter A. Fitzgerald at St. Petersburg, Florida, Paul B. (Martha) Fitzgerald of Land O Lakes, Florida and Maureen A. Fitzgerald of Winter Garden, Florida; grandchildren, Laura A. Seymour, Taylor A. Fitzgerald, Kristen April Wommer, Amanda Beth Ann Fitzgerald, Megan Maria Fitzgerald and Paul Brendan Fitzgerald, II.

Services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be given to the Thomas Fitzgerald Memorial Fund, 917 South 15th Street, New Castle, IN 47362.
