Tonya Mae Chesher

Tonya Mae Chesher, 45, of New Castle passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at her home with her husband and sister by her side, following a battle with cancer. She was born April 3, 1973 in Delaware County to the late Charles and Wilma (Anderson) Allred.

She attended Ivy Tech and obtained her Certified Nursing Assistant license. Tonya worked and was known and loved at Westminster Village in Muncie. She was a loving caregiver, wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Lee Chesher of New Castle; children, James Lee Locke of Muncie, Adrian Locke of Sulphur Springs, Amanda Locke of Muncie; step-children, Kerrie (Adam) Dunn of Frankton, Ashley (Wes) Robinson of New Castle, Christopher (Brittany) Chesher of New Castle; a loving niece, Melanie Shields; 10 grandchildren; siblings, Charles W. (Sharon) Allred of Muncie, Robert Allred of Muncie, Randy Allred (Dewayne Estes) of Muncie, Vonda (Jon) Filomeno of Jonesboro; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Jerry Leon Chesher.

Services will be at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Bro. Frank Wood officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 4 – 8 p.m. Friday, November 16th, at the funeral home.
