Trudi Ann Boyd

Trudi Ann Boyd passed away peacefully in her home with her beloved better half, John Bradley on October 22, 2019 at 4:55 p.m.

Trudi was born on December 30, 1951 to Virginia B. Boyd and Archie A. Boyd, Jr. in New Castle, Indiana.

Trudi participated as a varsity cheerleader for the Trojans Basketball Team at New Castle Chrysler High School. She was a talented artist and seamstress. Trudi graduated in June 1970. Trudi attended Ball State University and graduated with honors with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Education K-12. In August of 1974 following her college graduation Trudi moved to Chicago, IL to begin her teaching career. She first taught in a Private Catholic School. In October 1993 she met John Bradley. Trudi became John’s love of his life.

In 1994, Trudi began working within the Chicago Public School System at Groudy School. She taught 5th – 8th graders, art, math and other subjects. After teaching for 22 years at Groudy, Trudi retired on September 30, 2016.

In September 2018 Trudi and Johnny moved from Chicago, IL to Indianapolis, Indiana.

Trudi leaves behind, her beloved better half, John Bradley; three brothers, Michael (Michelle) Boyd, Robert (Doris) Boyd, John (Teresa) Boyd; a sister, Cheryl Boyd; along with a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, best friend, Angelee Tatum-Lee and other close colleagues.

Preceding her in death is her father, Archie A. Boyd, Jr.; mother, Virginia B. Boyd and sister, Toni Lee Yon.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Bethel A.M.E. Church in New Castle with Pastor Martel Winburn, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens.
