William R. "Bob" Anderson

William R. “Bob” Anderson, 91, of Knightstown, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born April 26, 1926 in Rosedale, IN the son of William M. and Helen Daisy (Woodsmall) Anderson.

Bob graduated from Plainfield High School and attended Indiana University majoring in Engineering. He served in the U.S. Navy from1944-1946. He was a member of the Knightstown United Methodist Church and the Knightstown American Legion Post 152. Bob enjoyed hunting fishing, and loved listening to gospel music and sports of all kinds.

He is survived by his wife, Anna M. Anderson of Knightstown; three children, Jimmy (Terri) Anderson of Columbus, OH, Peggy (Don) Vaughn of Thorntown and Gary Anderson of Thorntown; two stepchildren, Debbie (Bobby) Ramsey of Knightstown and Troy (Brenda) Wright of Mooresville; five grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Louise Walker.

Services will be at 12 PM on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Curt Hunt officiating. Military rites will be conducted by an active duty contingent of the U.S. Navy and the Knightstown American Legion Post 152. Burial will follow in Washington Park Cemetery in Indianapolis.
