William "Bill" R. Taylor, 89, of New Castle passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Bethel Point Health in Muncie. He was born November 9, 1929 in Dayton, OH to the late Joseph and Evelyn (Daniels) Taylor.
Bill graduated from Mooreland High School and was the manager of basketball team. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and worked for Chrysler for 30 years. Bill was a Christian and attended churches in New Castle.
He is survived by sons, Tom (Debra) Taylor of Muncie, and Bob (Dawn) Taylor of Geneva, IN; grandchildren, Wendy Atkinson, Jessica (Josh) Fowler, Brad (Mandi) Taylor, Jeremy (Ann) Taylor, Felicia (Kris) Jones, Todd Taylor and Christopher L. Taylor; step grandchildren, Taya Patch, Taren Bauman and Mikell (Hannah) Robbins; seventeen great grandchildren; brothers, James (Patricia) Taylor, Richard (Kristi) Taylor both of Beavercreek, OH and Jack (Mindy) Taylor of Huber Heights, OH, sisters, Marilyn (Larry) Childs of Yorktown, IN and Sany Salyers of Celina, OH; sister-in-law, Rosemary Taylor of Dayton, OH; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Fay (Abrams) Taylor, a son, Don Taylor, grandson, Thomas Michael Taylor, brothers, Robert Taylor, Donald Taylor and Jerald Taylor.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Military honors will be conducted by a contingence of the U.S. Army, American Legion and VFW.
