William C. "Bill" Davis

William C. “Bill” Davis, 83, of New Castle, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Henry Community Health. He was born February 28, 1935 in New Castle, a son of the late Charles H. and Pauline Maudie (Branham) Davis Sr.
A 1954 graduate of New Castle High School, Bill worked at Chrysler Corp. in New Castle before enlisting in the U.S. Navy. After serving in the Navy, he then served in the U.S. Marine Corps until 1960.
He worked at Westinghouse in Muncie for many years, and with his wife, owned and operated Bradley Scott Shops west of New Castle for over 42 years. He enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Oreda Davis of New Castle, a son, Bradley S. Davis of New Castle; two grandchildren, Matthew Stroup and Jessica Davis, both of New Castle; two great grandchildren, Colton Jones and Jayden Davis, both of New Castle; two nieces and two nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles H. “Jr.” Davis in 1988, and his in laws, Charlie and Elva Marcum.
At Bill’s request, there will be no public services. Private graveside services will take place at South Mound Cemetery. Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle is honored to handle the arrangements.
