Zae Ann Pierce, 84 of New Castle passed away Sunday, September 22 at Stonebrooke Rehabilitation Center in New Castle. She was born April 15, 1935 in Connersville, Indiana the daughter of the late Donald M. and Gladys I. (Trailer) Reece.
She was a 1953 graduate of New Castle Senior High School. Zae worked at the New Castle State Hospital and was a hairstylist. She worked at AT&T (formerly Bell South) then moved to Oklahoma City, where she retired. She was very involved in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She loved working in genealogy and at the library for her church. Zae loved quilting, sewing, ceramics and loved to travel. She had a passion for card making and taking classes.
Survivors include three grandchildren, Christina (Mark) Robinson of New Castle, Staci Abrell (Jasper Adams) of New Castle and Elaine Stickles of Seattle, Washington; great grandchildren, Dalton Robinson, Dillon (Megan) Cline, Ava Robinson, Zephan Robinson, Makayla Abrell, Jasmin Abrell and Elise Abrell; great great grandson, Angus Cline; step grandchildren, Morgan and Connell; step daughter, Jill; sister in law, Mary Helen Reece of Ft. Wayne; brother in law, Leslie Pierce of New Castle and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Everett W. Pierce, two daughters, Sharon Lee Clark Reed and Elizabeth Irene Stickles; two sons, Kenneth Grant Clark and Dean Alan Clark; an infant son, Everett Pierce Jr.; and a brother, Gary Reece.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 30, 2019 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Joshua Nunnery officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. Sunday, September 29 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
