Albert B. Pyle, 99, of Bloomington, passed away Sunday, September 14, 2025 at University Heights Health and Living in Indianapolis. He was born February 10, 1926 in Dubois, Pennsylvania, the son of Albert H. Pyle and Adeline M. Horn.
Albert was a 1943 graduate of Dubois High School. He joined the Army in 1944 serving during WWII, serving in Japan, and then in the Korean Wars and was involved in Little Switch prisoner exchange. He then graduated in 1949 with a Bachelors Degree in Engineering from Norwich University in Vermont. He went to Army language school in Monterey, California. He retired from Westinghouse following more than 40 years of service – traveling to China, Turkey, and South America with Westinghouse.
Albert was a Free Mason, Shriner and a longtime member of Evangelical Community Church in Bloomington. He enjoyed woodworking and building beautiful furniture. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Albert was a family oriented person and always loved being with them, and baking his famous cookies.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Matt (Julie) Pyle and daughter, Karen (Mike) Trent; grandchildren, Emily (Jonathan Mance) Trent, Sarah (Billy) Holland, Jared (Jessica) Pyle and Abagail Pyle; great grandchildren, Gracelyn Pyle, Kayci Pyle and Christian Snell.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean (Barkley) Pyle.
Services will be private for the family. Burial will be in Glen Cove Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel. Condolences and memories of Albert may be shared at www.hinsey-brown.com.
