Alberta J. Linville Poynter, age 85, of Kokomo, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2008 at Northwoods Village in Kokomo. She was born July 18, 1923 at Rush Co. (Arlington) to the late Herbert and Elizabeth (Moore) Kennedy.
She retired from General Motors in Kokomo 1982. She was a former member of the Eagles and Elks Lodges in Kokomo. She enjoyed playing cards, reading and was a great cook.
Survivors include a son: Terry Ray (wife: Patricia) Linville of Sanger, Texas; a daughter: Sharon (husband: Tim) Parvin of Russiaville, Indiana; a daughter-in-law: Betty Linville of Mooreland; eleven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands Robert Linville in 1973 and Robert Poynter in 1985; a son Don Linville in 1997; eleven siblings.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Mark Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Blountsville Cemetery. Friends may call 4-8 Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be made at www.hinsey-brown.com .
