Alice Marie Mastin

Alice Marie Mastin, 87, of New Castle passed away on Monday June 1, 2026, at the Willows of New Castle. She was born on July 31, 1938, in New Castle to the late Herman Amburgey and Pansey (Griffey) Hughes.

A 1956 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School, Alice then attended New Castle Business College. Alice spent 49 wonderful years serving the community at the Henry County Public Library before retiring.

Alice was a long-time member of South Memorial Drive Church of God where she loved singing in the choir and working in the food pantry. She enjoyed camping and making crafts and Christmas ornaments with her family. Alice and her sisters enjoyed a good rivalry of Pollyanna, having played for more than 65 years together. She also enjoyed playing euchre and was part of the Jolly Joker Eucher club.

She is survived by her half-sister, Bettyann Revitzer; dear lifelong friend, Glen Sharp; along with many Mastin extended family members; and several nieces, nephews and cousins; friends and caregivers, Jackie Foster, Joyce Murphy and Janet Driskill.

In addition to her parents Alice is preceded by the love of her life, Wayne Clifford Mastin; sisters, Marilyn Shore and Carole Soper; brother, Roger Colyer; brother-in-law, Jim Shore; half-brother, David Amburgey; along with many Mastin brothers and sisters-in-law.

Services will be at 1:00 pm on Tuesday June 9, 2026, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of service.
