Almalea Eavenson, 83, of Springport, went to be with her loving husband on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at I.U. Health Ball Memorial in Muncie following an extended illness. She was born May 27, 1938 in New Castle, Indiana, a daughter of the late Silas and Agatha (Lawson) Saylor.
Almalea’s family left to honor and cherish her memory are two daughters, Jamie Lane Eavenson of Jacksonville, Florida and Andrea Beth Phillips of New Castle; son, Michael (LaDonna) Eavenson of Mt. Summit; four grandsons, Douglas Michael Eavenson of Mt. Summit, Seth Michael Eavenson of Springport, Ross Hudson Phillips of Wisconsin and Jack Henry Phillips of Muncie; two granddaughters, Lisa Marie of Lewisville and Jaclyn Danielle Thompson of Jacksonville; great grandchildren, Faith, Audrey, Henry and Tobias & Wyatt James Thompson; brother, David Michael Saylor of Texas; and a sister, Deanna Whitton of New Castle.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Connie Gilliam and the absolute love of her life, Theodore “Sonny” Eavenson in 2006.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Paul Davis officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be 5:00-9:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and two hours prior to services on Thursday.
