Anita Lucille Stewart

Anita Lucille Stewart, 76, of Farmland passed away Saturday, March 7, 2026 at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis following a brief illness. She was born June 4, 1949 in Greenville, Ohio to the late Willis Jackson “Jack” and Elsie Lucille (Wisener) Kenworthy.

Anita was a 1967 graduate of Winchester High School. A lifelong resident of Randolph County, she married the love of her life, Barry Stewart, in 1971. Anita had worked at several places through the years, including Wal Mart, Gillman’s Home Center and for Union Schools. In her spare time, she loved playing cards, including Euchre and Thirty-One. In her earlier years, she loved to go fishing, attend car shows, watch races at the Muncie Dragway, garden, can vegetables but more than anything playing with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Barry Stewart of Farmland; daughters, Tracy (Michael) Stark of Farmland and Jaime (Chad) Rector of Losantville; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Stark, Sydney Rector, Taylor Rector (Ethan Hoffman), Morgan Rector (Josh Lowe) and Jack Rector; sister, Jane (Randy) Simmons of Union City, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Aileen Hugg of Farmland and Bev (Dudley) Guffey of New Castle; a brother-in-law, Sid Stewart and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Judy Bales; father and mother-in-law, Bob and Anne Stewart.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at New Lisbon Christian Church, 7996 E. County Rd. 550 N. Union City, Indiana 47390 with Pastor Jeff Straley officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the church.
